Lectors
The lector is instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel. He or she may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings.
The readings are the Word of God and thus should be spoken clearly and with reverence. They are an element of the greatest importance in the Liturgy.
REMINDER:
- Lectors should arrive 15 minutes before Mass begins.
- In keeping with the dress code, men are requested to wear jackets.
- Please seek a replacement if unable to fulfill a particular assignment.
